Explore Elk - March Break
If you’re looking for a unique, fun, and educational March Break experience for all ages, come to the farm and EXPLORE ELK!
GET OUTSIDE with a self-guided walk along our picturesque 1.8 km Perimeter Trail, where you can watch the elk… while they watch you. (Trail is not stroller/wagon friendly)
GET HANDS-ON with multiple sets of antlers grown right here on our farm — including Ontario’s largest grown by our bull Riker.
LEARN all about elk and elk farming with engaging, educational activities to participate in while you walk. The farmers will also be on hand to share stories & answer any questions you may have.
NAME OUR BULL - Cast your vote at the farm!
AVOID THE CROWDS thanks to strict capacity limits and flexible arrival times. You will be sharing the farm with a handful of others, but it will never feel busy.
MAKE MEMORIES with your favorite people, surrounded by a majestic herd of elk — and maybe even head home with an unforgettable “elk-y selfie."
GIVE BACK to the community. $1 from every reservation made during March Break will be donated to Open Arms Mission Food Bank.
SHOP (no obligation) our "Tine-y Farm Store" & bring home an elk antler chew for your furry friend, or a keychain or hat for yourself (Cash or e-transfer only)
Each visit will take approx. 1.5 hours. Spots are limited and must be booked in advance in order to reserve a spot on our guest list. Kids 3 & under are free. No Walk-Ins. No Pets.
Please read "Important Info" & Waiver/Release before booking. An email including details about the day of your visit (farm address, parking instructions, etc) will be sent approx 48 hours in advance.
Communication is key - always feel free to email us with any questions before you come!
IMPORTANT INFO - READ BEFORE BOOKING
Our 1.8km Perimeter Trail is not difficult to navigate, but does have areas of rough terrain and may be messy. Guests may encounter ice, snow, mud, puddles and other naturally occurring, weather dependent conditions which require appropriate clothing & footwear. Guests not wearing appropriate, closed toe footwear will be prohibited from walking on the trail. Trail is not stroller/wagon friendly. Visitors must remain on the clearly marked trail at all times.
Elk views are guaranteed but we can't guarantee how close they will decide to come to the fence. Calm, quiet conversations and walking at a slow, steady pace will improve the experience for both you and the elk.
Yelling, calling, bugling at, or playing elk noises from a phone are considered harassment, and will stress the herd out. Visitors engaging in this behaviour will be asked to leave. Absolutely no pets allowed - the elk will not take kindly to them.
There is no food available to purchase at the farm but you are welcome to bring your own snacks & drinks. We kindly ask that you take any garbage home with you, or dispose of it in the garbage bin provided near Welcome Table.
In order to create a "flow" guests can arrive anytime within their chosen time slot. Your visit will take approx. 1.5 hours.
Due to our farm's strictly enforced biosecurity protocols, each group must check-in and check-out at our Welcome table & provide the license plate number for each vehicle driven onto the farm. Upon arrival, a signed waiver/release will be required for each visitor.
Don't forget your camera & bring some binoculars in case the elk are playing shy.
We will email you a few days before your visit with important information & reminders.
Most importantly - Have fun, be creative, & Explore Elk!
REFUND POLICY
No Refunds. Trail is open rain or shine. Unused Reservations can be redeemed for a future visit of equal value, pending availability. Rescheduled visit date/time is at Narrows Edge Elk's discretion & must be pre-arranged in writing. narrowsedgeelk@gmail.com
